When declaring the results of examinations 2025, CBSE announced that the examinations of both Class X and XII in 2026 will commence from 17.02.2026. It was also informed that in 2026, CBSE will conduct two Board examinations for Class X as per the recommendations made in NEP-2020.

Based on the registration data of Class IX and Class XI, CBSE released a tentative Date Sheet for 2026 on 24.09.2025. As LOCs were submitted and final subject combinations known, CBSE prepared the Date Sheet for examinations from 17.02.2026 (110 days prior).

Considerations included subject gaps, entrance exam dates, evaluator availability, avoiding overlapping subject combinations, and start time 10:30 AM (IST).
